About 25 years ago Theo Faberge, grandson of the renowned jeweler Carl Faberge, launched his St Petersburg Collection of beautiful eggs.
To protect and display these special creations, which incorporated precious metals and gems, carved stones, crystal and porcelain, each egg was housed in a high quality custom fitted presentation box manufactured in England.
This elegant box features a plush two tone suede/velvet interior, with a circular recessed area for the egg. (not an oval) The recess is centered and situated slightly towards the rear of the box. Theo Faberge's signature is displayed on left door panel. The rich gold exterior features brass hinges, latch, feet and carrying handle.
This display case is in extremely nice estate condition. Exterior is clean and nice, free of scuffs, blems, etc. Interior is also perfectly clean, with only a very tiny, minor rub/mar to lower left suede door panel. Hinges, latch, feet and handle are all present and work properly.
The box is very solid and quite heavy.

sticker present on bottom of case.
The gold exterior color was difficult to photograph, but is best represented in the first and last images shown above.
If you are missing the presentation case for your Faberge egg this example is in extremely nice vintage estate condition. A great opportunity for anyone needing an original fitted case, because as with most antique and collectible articles, original packaging increases the value of the item.
My research indicates that all of the boxes for the St Petersburg collection feature identical exteriors. Interiors also appear to be identical, with some slight variations to the recessed area of the plinth, apparently to accommodate differences in the shape/size of a few of the eggs. Please evaluate your egg to determine if it will fit properly in this display box.
There are a number of eggs in the St. Petersburg collection, some of which I understand were designed in collaboration with Theo Faberge's daughter, Sarah Faberge. Many noteworthy museums have catalogued items from this impressive collection and first issues have been presented to royalty, heads of state, dignitaries and other important people. Sadly Theo, who was born in 1922, passed away in 2007.
Following is a list (not complete or in an particular order) of some of the eggs from the St Petersburg collection: The Firebird, Russian Cathedral, Pink Orchid, Red Admiral, 60th Anniversary, New World, Tsarskeyo Selo, Symphony, Mariinsky, Milestones of Flight, Tercentenary, Peter the Great, Grand Duke, Signature, Celebration, Piano, Millenium, Shtandart, Alexander Palace, Buddleia, Centennial, Golden Ring, Ocean, Siderial, Sunburst, Enlighten the People, Orchid, Rose Garden, Russian Winter, Yuletide, Autumn, Editor's Scribe, Encore, Imari, Presentation, Scrooge McDuck, Brotherhood, Icon, Freedom, Phoenix, Friendship, Summer, Clover, Coral, St. Vladimir, Wassail Bowl, Devil, Eternity, Winter, Four Seasons, Scribe, Spring, Swag
