A wonderful antique Victorian era frog passementerie closure.  It appears to have never been used.

It is a rich, very dark black in color  (no fading, images are lighter due to flash) with gold/bronze metallic bullion button type accents.  This is a larger, substantial size, probably intended for capes, caplets, cloaks, jackets and shawls, etc., rather than for blouses and lighter weight clothing items.

It is in excellent condition and would be a wonderful embellishment to any period piece, or perfect as a replacement on a worn Victorian article.  Additionally, it would add an authentic period element to modern reenactment clothing.
