This very fine antique - vintage passementerie trim embellishment likely originated in France, c. 1890 - 1920.
The rich Bordeaux silk floss is interwoven with a very fine gold and black metallic braid, which adds a nice contrast and elegant sparkle.

This trim is in extremely nice antique estate condition.  It is high quality new old stock and has never been used.  The silk appears strong and stable, with rich, consistent color throughout.   The metallic braid appears equally nice and untarnished.  Obviously well cared for and well stored; we see no problems or issues of any kind.
