Exceptionally nice, unused and very high quality antique Italian linen towels, dating to apx 1900 - 1910.   One towel is shown in first image and the second towel shown in last image.
They have never been used and one still retains the original Made In Italy paper label.
Both towels feature an identical double damask pattern motif of flowers and foliage, with fancy scrolls that was difficult to capture with a camera.  Each  has a wide edging of macrame and fringe, however the fringe on one is slightly longer than the other.  I imagine since the macrame and fringe work was all executed completely by hand, possibly even by different individuals, that no two towels were ever absolutely identical.
They are very generously sized and larger than other similar period examples I have seen.  The linen is very fine, with a soft, smooth texture.  The towels remain unused and in exceptionally nice antique estate condition.
As mentioned, one towel still retains the original label and the other retains just a portion of it.  See 4th & 5th images.  Both towels are free of damage, tears, snags, wear, etc.   They are clean, with no noted stains, marks, etc., however they would surely brighten with a light soak, but since original label, polish and finish are present, it is our policy to leave that choice to buyer.
Really fine, very lovely old towels, in hard to find unused condition.  Possibly part of a high quality trousseau.
