Nice Unused Vintage Pure Linen Kitchen Towels ~ Bold Primary Striped Colorway, c.1940's ~ 6 Available

Nice Unused Vintage Pure Linen Kitchen Towels ~ Bold Primary Striped Colorway, c.1940's ~ 6 Available

Material:  Linen
Size:  Length ~ 29 inches,  Width ~ 17 & 1/2 inches
Label:  Yes ~ Pure Linen, cotton decoration
Color:  Cream/natural linen ground, with red, blue, green, yellow and
             gray stripes.
Quantity:  18 available ~ priced per towel

What a great find ~ a stash of unused, vintage, high quality and very colorful striped linen kitchen towels, dating to apx. the 1940's.

The towels are generously sized and nicely finished, most with all four edges hemmed, but some have two hemmed edges and two selvage edges.  Many retain the Pure Linen paper label.

The medium weight linen is excellent quality, tightly woven, smooth and quite fine.  Although origin is not noted on the labels, quality is certainly equivalent to the best Irish linen of the day.  The towels have never been used or laundered and retain original polish.  We expect the creamy linen ground color will lighten somewhat with first wash.

These towels were still bundled together and secured with original ribbon ties when found, seemingly safely stored away for many, many years.  They are in exceptionally fine vintage estate condition.  Bright primary color stripes, typical of the 1930’s and 40’s, remain rich and vibrant and we find no stains, spots, specks, tears, snags or any other type of problem.

Perfect gift for the kitchen linens collector.  We also have six similar towels from the same estate, with slightly different color combination, offered separately.  See link at page left.

Please Note:  Price is per towel.  Presently 18 are available.  To purchase more than one, simply change the number in the quantity box below to desired amount (up to 18) and click the adjacent Add To Cart Button.
