This antique white tablecloth, c. 1890 -1910 features Venetian drawn work at center,
surrounded by Battenburg tape lace in an interesting and unusual stylized heart motif
that measures an amazing 18 inches at each corner.
The lace is hand stitched to fabric.
The tablecloth is in very nice overall condition, with no noted tears, or holes to
fabric. When examined up close in bright sunlight we did note a couple of tiny,
tiny, pin head size specks and one very small, faint mark, possibly water?
There are
some broken brides in the lace, but for the most part it appears the threads have
just pulled loose and could be reattached, if desired. These are small areas, nothing
glaring or extremely noticeable, but there may be a couple on each side. We also
noted one tiny, pencil point size light mark to the lace.
This hand made Victorian era tablecloth, with an unusual lace heart motif, is fresh,
clean, and pressed.
