Excellent Vintage Black Leather Edwardian Shoes ~ Girl Military
Excellent Vintage Black Leather Edwardian Shoes ~ Girl Military
Excellent Vintage Black Leather Edwardian Shoes ~ Girl Military

Material:  Black Leather

Size:  apx. 7, but quite narrow at toe

Measurements:  Inside, toe to heel ~ 10 & 1/8 inches,  Width ~ 3 & 3/16,
                         Heel ~ 1 & 3/4 inches
Quantity:  1 pair

A pair of ladies Edwardian vintage black leather oxfords, c. 1902 - 1910.

They tie and appear to have original shoe laces.  Lining is a black linen like fabric.  They have the military heel.  Decorated with hand punch work at toe.  Label inside reads;  Girl Military

No size indicated inside the shoes, but they are almost exactly the same size as another pair we have for sale that are marked 7 & 1/2, so we ESTIMATE apx. a size 7 to be conservative.  They are fairly wide across the ball of the foot for an early shoe, which is a nice bonus, but quite narrow in the toe area, which must be considered.  Please keep in mind however, that while the size does appear to be approximately as indicated, we cannot conclusively confirm how marked size information compares to our modern sizes, so please review actual measurements above for additional details.

The shoes are in very good overall condition. They have been worn, but not excessively.   Interior is very clean and nice.  The leather remains quite supple and soft, free of splits and cracks, with just some scuffing, mostly at toe, but a good black polish will remedy.  We see no problems with these shoes. The leather looks and feels good, soles and heel guards remain quite thick and sturdy, lining is great.  They actually look like they would be very comfortable.  Please ignore light glare on the shoes in first and third images.

Truly a very nice, extremely wearable Edwardian shoe.

Finding good condition vintage shoes, in sizes wearable today, is rather difficult, so we were very pleased to purchase a small collection of size 6, 7, 8 and 9 Victorian, Edwardian and 1920's foot wear, listed separately, here on our web site.
