This is one of the nicer pair of ladies antique high top boots we have found and the color is quite unusual.  Not quite gray, not quite olive, but a subtle combination of both shades, producing an aesthetically pleasing and attractive result.

As ladies boot styles remained quite similar for a number of years exact dating is difficult, but an approximate time period of the later Victorian years, to the Edwardian era, 1890 - 1919 would be appropriate.

These fancy dress boots feature fine, soft, supple exterior leather, intricate perforated detail around the vamp and across the pointed toe, plus high quality, thick leather soles and heel guards.  Interiors are completely lined in kid leather and soft canvas, with leather insoles and soft felt heel pads.  A stylish and fairly tall Louis XV heel completes the elegant look

The boots are in exceptionally nice antique estate condition.  They have been worn, but minimally. Soles and heels shows some minor use, but no actual wear.  The fine leather remains quite soft and supple and the color appears completely original.  They have not been dyed or polished with another shade.  Wanting to leave the unusual color in its original, unaltered state.  We have not polished or treated the boots, so some leather conditioner or something similar might be beneficial, however as the leather actually remains quite soft we will leave that choice to new owner.   Long gray shoe laces, that we believe to be original, are present and also appear extremely nice.  Interiors are clean with some minor discoloration to the canvas tongues, which we believe to be minor oxidation from the paper that was stuffed inside the boots for a long period of time.  Exterior leather is quite nice, with just a few minor scratches ~ scuffs.  The boots were obviously stored properly and well cared for; they appear quite strong and stable.

Provenance:  these boots, along with some antique women's and men's clothing I will be listing soon, was purchased from an ancestor of the original owner who migrated from Scotland and settled in the Pacific Northwest.  All of the family items were very high quality and exceptionally well made.

PLEASE NOTE:  On my monitor the boot color appears very true, however please keep in mind that all monitors do not display color exactly the same.
